"The concern over the depletion of the National Guard is a bipartisan issue." Really? It is from THE FACT that just like Congress did with its War Powers Act, Governors have giving away their control of their state milita to the central government.
-
I urged Ohio Governor Sherrod Brown not so much to bring the Ohio National Guard home from Iraq, but at least keep them from additional deployments.
-
It is each state's Governor and State Legislature that must be held accountable for allowing the Executive Branch of our FEDERAL government to take any Governor's control of our state's National Guard for them.
-
In fact, with 2008 on the horison, I urge independent and swing voters as fed up as Military Families 'really are' with endless deployments to hold their state representatives responsible for the use and abuse of our National Guard.
-
WE THE PEOPLE can hurt the war monger wing of any political party by focusing on lower level elections and holding an entire party ticket responsible for IRAQINAM.
-
Chicken Hawks know that if enough Governors (or people of enough STATES) cut off that manning pool future deployments to IRAQINAM are doomed.
-
Want to know just how SCARED they are that the National Guard will be pulled out from under them and BRING ON THE DRAFT or else?
-
Monitor every states General Election campaigns, and I bet you my next retirement check that candidates running for State Assembly or any state level postion DISTANCE themselves from IRAQINAM.
-
It is really too late in the game to bring Bush/Cheney down as Congress should have attempted to do with or without the votes needed. That did not deter us Republicans from going after Bill Clinton.
-
Thus, if WE cannot get the top two dogs IMPEACHED, then let us seriously hit them where it really hurts AT STATE LEVEL.
-
Sorry for all the comments, but I did lord knows how many previous Blogs about this BS, and I now see state politicians finally wising up to really how to end the Iraq War.

"Many of the nation’s governors have expressed serious concerns about the foreign deployment of the National Guard-leaving states with reduced resources to respond to major disasters."
